2. The principle first

SofaCoder is deliberately built without a backend. There are no accounts, no registration, no tracking, no ads and no analytics — neither on this website nor in the apps. We do not operate any server that receives or stores app data.

3. This website

The website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services. When you visit it, the hosting provider generates technically necessary server logs (IP address, time, requested page) to provide and secure the service (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); they are deleted after a short period.

4. The Mac app

The Mac app processes data exclusively on your device: it reads Claude Code session data from your home directory, manages approval requests through local files and stores its history in a local database.

  • Plan usage:To show your limits, the app queries Anthropic's official usage endpoint directly from your Mac — using the access token Claude Code stores locally in your keychain. This request runs between your device and Anthropic; we are not involved.
  • No sharing: Your session content, commands and approvals leave your device only towards your own iCloud (see section 5) — they are never transmitted to us or to third parties.

5. Sync via iCloud (CloudKit)

For the iPhone bridge, Mac and iPhone sync through the private CloudKit database of your own iCloud account. The data (pending requests, decisions, session metadata) resides with Apple in your personal iCloud storage — technically inaccessible to us or to other users. Apple's iCloud privacy terms apply in addition. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's APNs service.

6. Your rights

You have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we do not store any personal app data ourselves, access requests will generally only concern this website's server logs.
